New Website coming in July

I finally broke down and asked GoDaddy to revamp my website. I get so many emails and calls and keep telling them. I am already busy enough. But, with the COVID Crisis, it has impressed upon me how transitory everything is.

Did you ever imagine you would be wearing a mask in public, hoarding toilet paper, getting stressed going grocery shopping, and telling your father, "No, you absolutely can't go out!" Crazy.

I am at that weird stage where I am starting to plan for (Jim's) retirement, during which we always planned to travel. Now, who knows?

But, I am going to go ahead and start beefing up my online work now rather than later. So make sure and check back in with me at www.life-works.info to see the bright shiny new me!

POSTPONED: JTF Annual Conference and MWCEA Happy Hour 2020

We would like to let you all know what your loyal support to our organization has afforded us to donate and support others who have been affected by a workers’ compensation injury.

This year we, were able to donate $1,000.00 to Kids Chance of Maryland in 2019. Kids Chance is an organization that provides scholarships to young adults, whose lives have been affected by a parent suffering from a workers’ comp. injury.  This scholarship aides them to further pursue their education.

It was a very painful decision, but IARP - Chesapeake and Maryland Joint Task Force for Injured Workers have decided to postpone our Annual Conference, normally held in June, to next year. We considered postponing, but many other organizations are doing this and currently fear they will inevitably have to postpone again. Likewise, we are not planning to offer our annual Happy Hour at the MWCEA conference 2020.

We are dedicated to providing educational opportunities for our members and the Workers’ Compensation Community at large and appreciate all the support you have provided over the years. We hope to see you in-person on June 16, and in September 2021!

To thank you and to encourage your continued valuable contact with our members, we would like to extend the opportunity to provide online educational programming to our members. We can offer one per month until next year’s conference!

You are welcome to use our Zoom platform if needed, and we can apply for the CEUs if needed. We would need the outline, a survey for feedback, and the bio of the presenter. That’s it.

Please contact IARP President, Mary Sherwood Sevinsky to schedule a time to present!
