A chiropractor will:

  • Obtain detailed medical history from you
  • Discuss current symptoms and expectations with you
  • Explain his or her education, background and philosophy
  • Explain and demonstrate how he or she treats (using visual aides and/or a chiropractic table)
  • If you haven't had diagnostics such as X-rays or MRI he may request that you do so
  • He or she may provide treatment the first session and should explain it has he or she provides
  • Explain that you may have more symptoms in the near future as your body adjusts or realigns itself
  • YOu might be scheduled for more visits initially - twice a week for example.
CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENTS VARY AMONG PROVIDERS

Chiropractic treatments may vary among providers and depending on preference or your needs, may include:

  • Spinal Manipulation
  • Acupuncture
  • Fitness & Nutrition
  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Traction
Here is an article that does a great job explaining the types of treatments and techniques involved in Chiropractic Care.  http://www.joanngentle.com/different-types-of-chiropractic-care-and-treatment-techniques.html

I hope this article helps you understand what to expect from a visit to the Chiropractor.
